Charlotte Amalie
As we approached Charlotte
Amalie, the characteristic red roofed buildings came into
view. Charlotte Amalie is the capital of the USVIs and the
major port for cruise ships and chartered yachts.

We
walked around town, taking the 99 steps to the Fort which
overlooked the Bay that harbored numerous luxury yachts and
giant cruiships. Cement shops lined the streets, which were
busy with cars and pedestrians. |

March 22
We took a bus to the end of the island to visit
WalMart for purchases we had been unable to make for so long. At Red Hook, we
stopped for drinks at a little outdoor cafe situated in the middle of the
mangroves. All around us, huge iguanas entertained us. When I crept up close to
get a better photo, a large male took a run at me. In my hasty retreat, I could
hear the patrons in the restaurant having a good laugh at my expense! |

Honeymoon Bay
Honeymoon Bay on Water Island
was the place to be for cruisers visiting St. Thomas.
Potluck Supper
March 22
The pre-potluck supper band
entertained us on the beach. It was good to visit old
friends and new as the sun dipped into the sea. |

Movie Night
Honeymoon beach is a gem, only
accessible by boat. A regular "drive in" movie night lured
us to the beach after sunset. A sheet was tied between the
palms and we sat on blankets watching the show. A row of
ATV's were lined up behind us. |
