                              France INDEX & MAPS

Our first French experience was our land trip to Paris from Turkey to incorporate our Visa renewal in the winter of 2008.

While cruising in the Med, we briefly visited Corsica, in July/08, a French island above Sardinia and between Italy and Spain.

August 7-17/09

After leaving the hills of Italy in our wake, we sailed along the steep rocky walls of the French coast with its perpendicular cliffs, past Monte Carlo and the green gardens of Prince Rainier's Palace.

FRENCH RIVERA

We had not planned to visit the South of France but we were thrilled to be able to explore some of the French Riviera.  We made landfall and anchored in Ville Franche, a jewel among the rocky precipitous cliffs. Mansions on ledges were piled against the hillside but the town harbor retained a quaint traditional quality.

We made several land trips to nearby Monaco, Monte Carlo and Nice.

Then we made a stop over in St. Tropez  before heading to the Spanish islands.
