                             MALAYSIA JOURNALS -   INDEX                     August 30 - Dec 1/2006

Malaysia, SE Asia

Malaysia really surprised us. We did not expect to see such a modern, civilized country so close to the primitive lifestyle of Indonesia. Singapore was a metropolis of concrete and high-rises, crowds of people busy to get somewhere.

The waters of Malaysia were congested with ships, ferries and fishing paraphernalia, not to mention filthy garbage floating everywhere, making sailing challenging. We enjoyed our visits to the traditional cities of Port Dickson and Georgetown where the Chinese influence was so prevalent.
